We need your help to support the next generation!

Cowtown S.K.A.T.E. is launching our End of Year Giving Campaign to kickstart our programming,

expand impact, and ensure Valley youth have safe spaces to skate. Our goal is to raise $82,000 to strengthen and grow our programs, creating more opportunities for young people to discover everything skateboarding has to offer. Join us in keeping our community rolling!

Impact Stories
Solomon

Solomon joined our flagship S.K.A.T.E. & Create program, a four-week hybrid skate clinic and creative maker-space. His parents Wayne and Monica said the program was "lifechanging." Read on to hear Solmon's full story.

At Cowtown S.K.A.T.E. we know skateboarding is a powerful tool for human connection. Through our flagship program, a four week-hybrid skate clinic and creative makerspace - we use this mindset to help impacted youth across the Valley build confidence on and off the board.

We keep our program highly focused, working with a small group of 15 youth for intensive skate instruction and hands-on graphic design. This allows our seasoned instructors and local artists time for dedicated mentorship and skill development. You aren’t just buying gear; you are funding a safe space for kids to learn how to fall and get back up.

To see what investment really looks like, you have to meet Solomon.

Before finding Cowtown, he was hesitant and stayed in his shell. Being on the spectrum, he didn't get easily excited about things, and if he hit a roadblock, he would shut down.

By week two in our 15 student cohort, his parents Wayne and Monica, saw a complete turnaround. The small group dynamic and patient mentors gave Solomon the room he needed to take risks. He fell in love with the board, and he fell in love with the journey.

Shortly after finishing the program, Solomon wanted to try riding a bicycle - something he previously would never touch. When his parents warned him he might fall.

Solomon smiled and said
“It’s okay, I fell on the skateboard!”

That grit changed everything else in his life. Today Solomon is organizing activities with friends, making his own comic books, and even running for student council. As an Indigenous kid, living in the city, seeing local skaters who look like him - and seeing our work with tribal communities - gave him the confidence to take on challenges his parents never thought possible.

As a grassroots skater community, you know exactly what it takes to stick trick after trick, falling a hundred times just to get it right. We keep our groups small so every kid gets the real, dedicated mentorship they deserve. To keep our program running we need your help! Please give what you can to support children just like Solomon, here’s how you can back a skater today:

  • $50 secures one S.K.A.T.E. & Create Scholarship for a kid

  • $150 covers expenses for the program’s community deck reveal celebration

  • $600 covers full shipping costs for participants to receive their originally designed decks

Our youth are standing at the top of the ramp, hyped and ready to drop in. Lets make sure they have the community behind them ready to back them up! Give what you can to support the next generation, every dollar counts. We're grateful for your support!
