S.K.A.T.E. & Create - November 2024

Cowtown S.K.A.T.E.'s hybrid maker-space course returns for round two; this time at Cesar Chavez Community Center! Thanks to our friends at M3F and KTR, 13 students came together to learn new things and make new friends. Kids ages 9-14 years gathered from the surrounding community to create amazing original skate deck designs through instruction on the basics of Adobe Illustrator and skateboarding 101 fundamentals.

S.K.A.T.E. & Create allows kids a space to be relentlessly creative and grow by getting out of their comfort zone in fun and new ways. For four Saturdays, kids have 1.5 hours of outdoor skate instruction and 1.5 hours of graphic design instruction in a classroom setting. With one-on-one help along the way, the level of growth witnessed amongst participants was next level.
